What is RECA Guard?

RECA Guard is the armored-vehicle division of RECA Handels-GmbH. The family business from Sindelfingen near Stuttgart was founded in 1979; today the second generation runs it – the third is already on board. We rent, sell and buy exclusively vehicles with original factory armor – RECA Guard is not an armoring company and not a workshop.

Rent an armored Mercedes S-Class with driver

Rental is our core business: armored limousines with a trained personal-protection driver, escort and convoy vehicles on request — by the day, for single appointments or on long-term contracts, in Germany and across Europe. We trade exclusively in vehicles armored at the factory: Mercedes-Benz Guard (our specialty — e.g. S-Class Guard, S 680 Guard 4MATIC), BMW Protection and Audi Security (e.g. A8 L Security). Purchase, sale and trade-in — discreet and on request.

VPAM protection levels VR4 to VR10

The VPAM guideline for vehicles distinguishes protection levels VR1 to VR10; VR10 is the highest. For civilian executive protection, levels VR7 to VR10 are the most relevant — VR10 is the highest level available in a civilian vehicle. We advise you brand-neutrally on the right protection level for your risk profile.

VR10 protection level — the highest civilian armour

VPAM VR10 is the highest protection level available in a civilian armored vehicle. A VR10 armored car is tested under live-fire conditions to the VPAM guideline — body, glazing and transitions must withstand hard-core and armour-piercing ammunition, certified by state-recognised proof houses.

The difference to VR7 and VR9 lies in the certified threat level: VR7 roughly equals the former B6, while the VR10 protection level covers the highest threats certifiable for civilian use. At RECA Guard, VR10 is available in the Mercedes-Benz S 680 Guard 4MATIC — as an armored security car to buy or as an armored limousine with driver to rent.

We deal exclusively in factory-armored vehicles — cars armored by the manufacturer at the factory. These include Mercedes-Benz Guard (e.g. S-Class Guard, S 680 Guard 4MATIC), BMW Protection (e.g. BMW 7 Series Protection) and Audi Security (e.g. A8 L Security). Our focus is Mercedes-Benz Guard; for BMW and Audi factory-armored cars we advise and source across brands.

We exclusively rent out and trade vehicles armored at the factory by the manufacturer — Mercedes-Benz Guard, BMW Protection, Audi Security, certified by the German ballistic testing authority (Beschussamt). We do not carry out retrofits ourselves; retrofitted armored vehicles — such as Toyota Land Cruisers — are usually not in our stock, but on request we broker them or advise on them.
