The PAX system is a run-flat system with an internal support ring on a special wheel: if pressure is lost, the ring carries the vehicle and you can continue at up to 80 km/h over a limited range. Which protection level? VPAM VR4 to VR10
The VPAM guideline for vehicles distinguishes protection levels VR1 to VR10; VR10 is the highest. For civilian executive protection, levels VR7 to VR10 are the relevant ones. We advise brand-neutrally on the right level for your risk profile and budget — and disclose the ballistic certificate for every vehicle we offer.
VR10 protection level — the highest civilian armour
VPAM VR10 is the highest protection level available in a civilian armored vehicle. A VR10 armored car is tested under live-fire conditions to the VPAM guideline — body, glazing and transitions must withstand hard-core and armour-piercing ammunition, certified by state-recognised proof houses.
The difference to VR7 and VR9 lies in the certified threat level: VR7 roughly equals the former B6, while the VR10 protection level covers the highest threats certifiable for civilian use. No — we trade in pre-owned armored vehicles. However, these usually have low mileage and a clean, verifiable history — often coming directly from the manufacturer. Every vehicle is on site in Sindelfingen near Stuttgart and inspected.

Michelin PAX is a run-flat system for armored vehicles: the tyre sits on a special wheel with an internal support ring. What do the protection levels VR and B6/B7 mean — and what is VR10?
VR (Vehicle Resistance) is today's VPAM resistance class for armored vehicles; B6 and B7 are the former designations: VR7 roughly corresponds to the former B6, VR9 to the former B7. VR10 is the highest civilian protection level — VR10 armor also withstands armor-piercing ammunition and is certified by independent, state-recognised ballistic test institutes. Our rental vehicles are certified VR9 and VR10, i.e. at and above the former B6/B7 level.
